Monday May 9

Well last night was our worst yet, Calie did not quite transition to oral pain meds as well as expected.  It was a very long night which left both Calie and mom very very exsausted.  We did get new X-rays today and all looked well however we did earn ourselves another night at the hospital we expect to go to Aunt Janells tomorrow but we will have to wait and see.  I also took a pix of Albert in her wheel chair eating the food  she didn't want I found it humorous.  Got to find something funny in all this :)  Oh I almost forgot Calie is now 2 inches taller and towers over her older sister!

Today we tookout her IV and went to oral pain meeds, used the bathroom!!! No more Cathider!!!! yay! and we walked down the hallway.  Calie is exhausted but did great!!!!!!
Getting up to try walking!

This dog came in for "pet therapy"

giving Calie a high 5!
sorry I tried to post this video and it didn't work right and I can't get it off!!!

Today was a very hard morning.  We sat up and went to the chair then also stood and switched to the wheel chair.  She struggled with holding her neck but was a real trooper.   Maybe tomorrow we will take a few steps.  She was worn out the rest of the day but perked up around dinner time and even smiled which was wonderful to see.  She even wanted her phone to do a little Face Book.  We opened a few more cards from friends she loves that!
spaghetti!  YUM! yes its true I even play airplane! :)

Sitting in a chair for the first time.  This was very hard for her but she was a trooper.

Janell, Bill , and Emma came for a visit.

After dinner she actually felt like a little social networking on her phone!  Signs of life!!!!!

I finally got a meal cooked for the family!  Our first one in a week.  Everyone was  happy and it was the first time Calie ate every bite!

So Calie had a hard night but is doing much better today!  She did her first Physical Therapy and I missed it but her dad said she sat up and put her feet on the ground!!!!  Tomorrow the goal is to get her out of the bed.  She did eat some pudding yay!  Food!  I think because it was chocolate!!!!  I open up for chocolate too. :) She got a present from Grandma and Grandpa Gibbs to day and I helped her open two cards today from her friends Rocki and Danielle.  This was the first time she smiled!!!!  It was GREAT so thank you!  here are just a few pix of that.  Love you all Toni

at the arcade
We left Fairbanks on May 1 for our drive to Seattle then on down to Idaho.  The trip actually took ALOT longer than expected 3 days and 1 night in the truck and half of one in a hotel and we finally got to Seattle late on the 3rd.  We ended up taking the worst road possible and we were pulling a trailer with my car so for most of the trip we were only going between 45-50 miles per hour, or Kilos as those Canadians say!  But the girls did super and we had some GREAT FAMILY TIME!

We spent two nights at the Great Wolf Lodge in Seattle and the girls had a super fun time last night in the water park and arcade.  Albert and I had quite a bit of fun on the water slides also!  Some much needed fun for the whole family, and Janell brought Emma to play and spend the night with us in the hotel, she was a pleasure to have!

before and after
This morning we got up at the crack of dawn to have Calie  checked in by 6 this morning, they finally took her back for surgery at 7:45,  however the surgery did not get underway till 9:30 because of some problems  getting the heart line in.  She finally got our of Surgery at 3:30 and we finally got her back and out of recovery around 5:30.  The surgery went well now she is resting with her happy little morphine button that she can push whenever she wants and she has the quilt that her cousin Janell made her with her to help her sleep.  Thank you Janell!!!  The surgery went well and so far everything looks good!  We will be staying at the Hospital and the Ronald McDonald house why she is in the hospital which will be about 6 days.  I will keep you all posted that is all for now.  Thank you for all the fasting and prayers we appreciate it so much. We love you all.
